West Oxfordshire police stopped the escape antics of two goats in Chipping Norton yesterday.

The officers were alerted to the animals which had got out of their field and were headed for the Worcester Road outside the town.

After a brief chase around a car park, the police officers apprehended the animals.

In a Tweet, the West Oxon team said: "I kid you not… PCSO Schofield called to action to prevent two goats straying onto the Worcester Road Chipping Norton.

"Owner of the goat was located and both led to safety after a short pursuit around a car park. Thank you to the member of the public that alerted us. #yourkidding."
